Boscobel

The original three-story cottage was built by Col. James Foster in 1887 and is listed with the National Register of Historic Places. Serving as the main inn, Boscobel has nine private guest rooms, a common gathering space, the dining room, a butler’s pantry, and a wraparound covered porch.

Chauffeur's Cottage

Built in 1888, the Chauffeur's Cottage contained the original servants quarters for Boscobel, and we've even retained some of the original stained-glass windows. You can choose from three private guest rooms here, with separate entrances for each.

Acadia Cottage

A newer building, Acadia Cottage was constructed in 2000 and features large rooms with spa tubs, fireplaces, and plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

Garden Cottages

Enjoy your own garden cottage!  Our dreamy garden cottages feature a king bed, a private entrance from your own front porch, and two cozy leather chairs for enjoying your fireplace.

  • Adorable and precious B&B in a great location. Atmosphere was intimate. Staff was outstanding. Drinks were delicious. Accommodations were clean and well maintained. This place has me never wanting to stay in a hotel again.

  • I couldn't have scripted a better experience for my first trip to Bar Harbor. Innkeeper Chris is doing what he was born to do, and it's obvious he takes great pride in his guests' experiences. From reservations to phone calls en route, to his welcoming attitude, spotless accommodations and his encyclopedic knowledge of the area, Chris and the Sand Bar Cottage are amazing. And the breakfasts!! Well planned, with five-star ingredients, preparation and presentation. There's no way I'd stay anywhere else in Bar Harbor on my next visit and, because of Chris, I will be back soon. Thank you, Chris!

  • My husband and I enjoyed the most wonderful time at the Sand Bar Cottage Inn. We were spoiled from the time we checked in. Our room was beautiful. Chris and the rest of the staff (I’m so sorry that I did not learn everyone’s name) went above and beyond. The breakfasts and afternoon treats were delicious, and each morning we would wake up anticipating our morning choices. The inn is close to everything. If you are looking for a place in Bar Harbor, ME, choose the Sand Bar Cottage Inn!
